A self-contained kit which uses miniature tanks to give separations in 5-10 minutes. The basic principles are covered by the separation of three dyes, singly and in mixtures, followed by the separation and detection of two amino acids. This is put to practical use by showing the effect of trypsin upon a protein, with the effects of pH on this action also being illustrated. Amino acids and proteases in plant material can also be demonstrated. Suitable for 5 students or groups.
